Mobile app audit
An accessibility check for iOS and Android based on WCAG 2.1 AA and the EN 301 549 standard. Automated checks and manual screen reader testing, the way people with disabilities actually use your app.
Since June 28, 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) has set accessibility requirements across the EU for specific products and services, including many digital services offered by businesses.
The obligation covers online retail, consumer banking, ticket sales, telecommunications and streaming. Depending on the service, both websites and mobile apps can be covered. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt.
Apps launched after June 2025 must comply immediately. The law also has transition periods until 2030, but they may not cover apps and websites.
National authorities enforce the rules, in Czechia mainly the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, and violations can lead to high fines. Accessibility is also a common requirement in tenders, and 10–15 % of app users rely on accessibility features.
Since June 2021, mobile apps of public sector bodies across the EU have had to be accessible under the Web Accessibility Directive (EU) 2016/2102, implemented nationally, for example by Act No. 99/2019 Coll. in Czechia, BITV 2.0 in Germany and the WZG in Austria. The requirements build on the same EN 301 549 standard and WCAG 2.1 AA and include a published accessibility statement. An audit for a public sector app therefore works the same way, and you get the basis for the statement along with it.
For accessibility audits, we specialise exclusively in mobile apps; testing on a phone is different work from a website audit. Automated tools catch only part of the problems. What matters is a manual walkthrough with a screen reader.
In the initial consultation we clarify your goal: do you want an overview of where your app stands, or full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance? Based on that, we pick scenarios covering the core features of the app.
We go through the scenarios on iOS and Android with a screen reader, enlarged text and without precise gestures. We assess labels, reading order, contrast, touch targets, forms and media.
We complement manual testing with automated checks across all screens. They catch recurring issues such as missing labels or insufficient contrast.
Afterwards, you know what your app already meets, where the specific barriers are and which fixes make sense next. We agree the scope up front based on what you need. Some clients only need a report for their own development team, others want the whole path to an accessibility statement. We set the price and duration after the consultation, based on the number of screens and scenarios.

We help you prepare the accessibility information the law requires, based on tests actually carried out.
Accessibility audits of apps used by thousands of people in several countries.
Healthcare – Teva
A migraine diary for patients and doctors. For the Hungarian version, we went through the screens with a screen reader, added video transcripts and captions, and adjusted forms, labels and contrast to WCAG 2.1 AA.
Retail – CZ, SK, HU
A loyalty programme and online store in one mobile app for Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.
Let's talk it through in a free, no-obligation consultation.
We have been building apps and software for over 20 years, so for us an audit doesn't end with a list of issues. Depending on what we agree, we take over the fixes or hand the details over to your development team.
Mobile app developmentWhat can be automated, we automate
Component labels, image descriptions and video captions are prepared with tools and AI. We always review the result by hand.
The rest takes human judgement
No tool can handle clear messages, screen reading order or navigation logic for you.
Accessibility in future releases
For Flutter apps, fixes are made once for both iOS and Android. We advise you on how to keep accessibility in check so future releases don't break it.
